Cristiano Ronaldo: «Conquistar o Mundial»

Ronaldo concedeu uma entrevista ao jornal brasileiro “Lance”, na qual afirmou que “o maior objectivo neste momento é conquistar o Mundial”.

O jogador falou sobre a carreira, principalmente desde a chegada ao Man. United, afirmando: “Existia, logo que cheguei, uma guerra entre dirigentes do clube e a imprensa, que não soube quando fui contratado. Os jornalistas tinham dúvidas quanto às minhas qualidades e o pior foi herdar a camisa do Beckham. Comparam-me com os Ronaldos (”Fenómeno” e Gaúcho), dizem que sou o novo Beckham e surgiu também a informação de que seria parecido com George Best. Em Portugal a comparação com Figo começou a ser feita também e de certa forma sinto-me honrado. Falta muito para que seja substituto do Beckham ou jogue como o Ronaldinho Gaúcho.”.

Selecção

“Tenho que vencer por Portugal. Nunca tivemos tantas chances de chegar tão longe no Mundial e acreditamos que com Scolari sejamos capazes de ganhar o título. O ambiente na Selecção hoje é óptimo. Tivemos uma crise, mas a chegada do Scolari acabou com isso. Temos hoje um Figo cada vez mais maduro e é o nosso líder”, declarou o avançado.

Em jeito de conclusão, Ronaldo foi claro ao afirmar que tem como planos “continuar no Manchester United até 2010. Tenho propostas de clubes como Valência, Juventus, mas quero ficar aqui”.

Ronaldo conceded an interview to the brasilian newspaper "Lance", where he affirms that "the biggest objective is to win the World Cup".

The player talked about his career, mainly since he plays for Man. Utd and he affirms : "There was, when i arrived, a little war between the managers of the club and the press, that I didn't knew when i came here. The journalists had doubts about my qualities and the worse was to have the shirt of Beckham. They compared me with the others Ronaldo's ("Fenomeno" and Gaucho), they said that i am the new Beckham and sugested also the information that i look like George Best. In Portugal i'm compare to Figo and i feel like honoured for that. Of course there is a lot to do to be the substitute of Beckham or to play like Ronaldinho Gaucho."

National Team

"I have to win for Portugal. We never had so many chances to be so close to the World Cup and we believe that with Scolari we are capable to win this title. The atmosphere with the national team today is great. We had bad moments, but the arrival of Scolari ended that. We have today Figo that is more mature and he is our leader." declared Ronaldo.

To finish, Ronaldo was clear saying that he wants "to continue at Man. Utd until 2010. I have proposals from clubs like Valencia, Juventus, but here is where i want to stay."
